  Poems for Life

The poems within are all my own

Set on paper in unset direction

  Longing to come on out

Forced out by thoughts of life

After all is said and done

  Life is just another poem

  Waiting for that one moment

To come to live for all to see

  Close Friends

  Come to me good friend

I need you to lend a hand

  To render what is wrong

I need you now to mend this old heart

You have the right blend of honesty, and support I so require

I am not asking you to bend in any way

Please I beg of you do not send me away

I know I have not always been a true good friend

For I know, I tend to be self-absorbed for whatever reason

We both know we can mend what is wrong, as we are friends

We both can vent our troubles to each other

As we blend so well together

We will be close friends until the end, and pass that as well…

  Tis the Season

  Oranges and apples

  Popcorn balls and chocolate candy

  Pencils and erasers

  Coloring book and crayons

  Play dough and yo-yo

  Small game

  All stuffed in tight

  In a stocking

Yet there is still a candy cane hanging out

  Wind

Wind blow down from way up north

In comes flying leaves and limbs

Not worth the danger to go on out

Do us a favor wind go on back up north

  Winter

W inter oh you have arrived way to soon

I had intended to go from here

Now I am stuck here thanks to you

T raped in the Snow Belt yet again

Enjoying the cabin fever, I will soon get

Rotten to the core you are I just wish I could ban you for life.

  Comforter

Oh, comforter how long have you been around?

Been in a nursing home for twenty years or more

Oh, comforter how are you held together

By machine in a factory sewn together in one big sheet

Oh, comforter were you a warm to the soul who once you held

I tried the best I could

Oh, comforter why did you leave the place where you lived

  Your owner passed away

I will miss her as well

Oh, comforter where did you go

  Silly I went to you

Oh, comforters do you like it here

  I haven a clue

Oh, comforter why say such a thing

I say so as now I am rolled part way under the chair you are in

  Oh, comforter so sorry

That is ok if you just get up and move your bottom out of the way

Oh, comforter see thee has freed you

  Well it was about time

  You both will be missed

  Damper

Thee the holiday season is here

The season of warmth and joy

  Where have you gone

The yuletide carols being sung by roaming carolers

Spreading the meaning of the season

  Where have you gone

Christmas of yesteryears of simpler times

Opening doors to neighbors, friends, and family

  Where have you gone

Dreams of a white Christmas in the country

Riding over fields and through the woods

  Where have you gone

Towns and cities showing their best for all to see

Pride in the wonderment of what could be possible

  Where have you gone

Business and homes decorated in simple matter

  Looking ever so inviting

  Where have you gone

Somewhere every town seemed to have a Christmas gathering

Some had plays put on in schools, churches or even a parade

  Where have you gone

Everyone came back to his or her roots just as t
hey wanted to year after year

  Where have you gone

Homemade presents meant more than store bought

Then would be treasured for many more years

  Where have you gone

Christmas please come back to stay

In addition, bring all those things that made you oh so special

  We need you

  Year’s End

  Eight-fourteen pm is the time

  Here on 12 December 2015

Counting on down until the end of year

  Where did the year go?

It was just thanksgiving last week it seems

Oh where does the time go?

Off like a light checking on eggs

Clearing the rotten ones out tonight

Making room for the new to fall on in

  Where do they all go?

  Time is running on down

  Springs have sprung

  Calendar needs to be replaced

  Where has the year gone

  Apples and Cranberries

Apples and cranberries decorate a tree

  Dried out as can be

  Strung around the Christmas tree

That was a lifetime ago right you over there

  Apples baked in a pie

  Cranberry sauce and a cookie

  For this is no lie

Now I must do part and I say to you bye

For now, but do not forget that apple tie

  Wonder Can

  Winter has arrived

Oh how soon will it be Christmas

Noel will be heard through out France

Dreams of warmer days will ease some

Easterly winds will be blowing on in blankets of snow

Ready or not snow will be with us three months if we are lucky

  Closed up summer fun

All will be calm its cabin season

  Now until spring thaw

  Little Lamb

  Away in a manger

  A little lamb rest

  Next to its mother

The stars in the sky look brightly down

Shinning its light upon all in the manger

The manger is pretty much filled for the night

A woman named Mary enters the manger

She is expecting a child very soon

  Mary’s husband Joseph accompanies
